Easy Childs craft apron

Materials

• Main fabric approximately 13x18 inches, this allows for a generous sized apron that will fit ages 2 to and up.


• Coordinating fabric approximately 6 inches or half the height of the main fabric and about 1 to 2 inches smaller.


• Ribbon in coordinating color approximately 45 inches


• Thread
  
• Sewing Machine


• Scissors


• Ruler


• Fray edge, clear nail polish or white glue for ends of ribbon


• Measuring tape
  
• Craft marker or chalk

Steps

1. Measure child’s waist and the height from the waist to where you want the bottom edge of apron to fall.


2. Cut fabric to size from child measurements.


3. Make pocket fabric to size you want pockets. I free handed it using a ruler to make sure lines were even. I added a space for a pencil, pack of crayons, and small note book. There is also a larger pocket that can be used to store money.


4. Pin ribbon to top edge of fabric. Fold over ribbon so that only the outside fabric shows and ribbon is covered. Center of ribbon should match center of fabric.


5. Pin down edges of fabric to create finished look.


6. Sew edges of main fabric. At this point the apron is nearly done.


7. Attach pockets at outer edge and bottom edge.


8. Sew pocket lines.
   
9. Apply fray edge to ribbon ends. You are done!
