If only Haagen Daz Grew on Trees

Yes you read it right...I wish Haagen Daz grew on trees!

Growing up Ice cream was always a treat, but the best treat was a trip to the store and a purchase of Haagen Daz. As a teen it was a trip to the mall where me and my best friend would spend several minutes sampling the delicious treats, before deciding on the sample thing we choose every time. No matter how many different flavors we sampled, I was always drawn between my favorite Strawberry and Bailey's Irish Cream. Really I have several favorites but the mall never sold Vanilla Swiss Almond for some reason, I guess it wasn't popular enough, lol.

Oh, those were the days spending hours sitting in front of the Haagen Daz store talking about dreams and where they would lead us. It seems so long ago as I sit here in front of my computer sticky with peanut butter hand prints all over my leg. I try to think of words that don't rhyme as my vocabulary has been reduced to Dr Seuss words "..left foot, right foot...feet..feet..feet"

Visions of feet turn into large trees, a garden in a bed of clouds with large clean, unsticky golden gates. Could it be heaven...then off in the distance I see a swing, the large bench swings under and tree and there a spoon and a branch hung low to the ground, ripe with fruit. But the strange fruit is not fruit at all. What I thought was fruit...could it be...I must be dreaming! It's pints! Heavenly looking white clouds in beds of gold with Black letters. Letters that seem so long ago forgotten, shoot back into memory as a race off, not after my 2 year old who has gotten naked for the millionth time and run laughing down the hall. Not after my 4 year old son who has just covered his sister in stickers while she was napping. No I run full speed to the tree and rip off pint after pint. First Strawberry my childhood favorite, then Vanilla Swiss Almond which I indulged in over long study sessions in college, then newer favorites that were quick becoming friends...Black Raspberry Chip, Mint Chip, White Raspberry Truffle...and then my eyes spy a black container. A stranger I had only heard of in passing, never seen, never met, now we were to be introduced as I slowly set my long missed friends to the side. I stroll over to pick Pomegranate Chip from the tree. I get ready to taste the smooth blend, my mouth poised ready taste buds anticipating.....

"MOM!!!!! TELL HIM TO STOP!!!" my 7 year old screams from the living room. My4 year old laughing down the hall, running to his room, slamming the door. My leg sticky covered in peanut butter and my 21 month old giggling naked into the hall.

If only Haagen Daz grew on trees I would have a minute, if only a minute to remember an old friend. Out of all the flavors which is my favorite...it is hard to tell I think I would have to say White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle!

A few moments of quiet....ah off to go chase down a now screaming 21 month old and find out what my 4 year old did to his sister.

Lounge in fun

So my DS loves spiderman and I decided to make him some lounge pants that he could wear around the house or even sleep in. I did not have a pattern for pajama pants but I did have a pattern for pants which is what I used with a slight moderation. I made the bottom of the pant legs larger then the pattern asked for. I even made him some shorts out of the pattern. The results, he loves them and they show as they are well worn.
